Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said shortly before at the Knesset: "It seems rocket fire come in response to our counterterrorism operations yesterday.
We will continue to frustrate and harm those who want to harm us, and we will act against them with great intensity. During the last year, rockets fired from Gaza are the lowest in a decade, but we are not content with it. We will continue to ensure the security of Israeli citizens in the South and throughout the country. "
Hayim Yellin, head of Eshkol Regional Council: "Since Pillar of Cloud operation we experienced quiet and we felt that our lives we conducted daily are real. This escalation is the most significant since the operation. Government of Israel should act politically or militarily so that this quiet returns to the area. I ask all residents of the area to continue to follow the instructions of the army and the Council to prevent unnecessary injuries.
Head of Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council, Alon Schuster: "I expect the IDF to fight terror, as if there is a political settlement while expecting the decision makers to promote a political solution to stop terrorism. Both channels are important and necessary - demonstrating resolve against terrorism and sensitivity and creative political negotiations.
