Vizhnitzer Rebbe: "a non-Jewish house" • Listen

The Vizhnitzer Rebbe, who arrived last night (Sunday) at the hundredss of thousands rally in Jerusalem, arrived earlier to the home of benefactor Rav Benzion Leibowitz on Sarei Yisrael Street, and held a Rosh Chodesh meal as his custom every month - along with a limited audience of followers and associates.

Speaking at the meal, the Rebbe began a long Torah talk on the Parsha, and then added, "It so happened that today is Rosh Chodesh Adar Sheni and Gedolei Yisroel set a prayer rally for today to be held soon.

"Here we are now in a difficult Holocaust in which talmidei chachamim were disgraced, talmidei chachamim are haredi Jews who sit and learn the holy Torah with yiras shamayim, my grandfather the Rebbe Imrei Chaim zt"l used to say of the Mizrachi that they left the Torah.



"I recently heard that a party who call themselves the 'Jewish Home' was established, I do not know why they chose this name if all their aim is against the Jews, this is a non-Jewish home. Heaven forbid they fight everything in the holy Torah against Shabbat, and everything else, they nebach, are tinokos shenishbu in the most difficult level.

"When such decrees are hovering on the Torah world and we are fighting against all those who rise up against us we must take stock of ourselves and check if we did not respect enough Torah and Torah sages, and to strengthen the observance of Shabbat and check whether we did not deal too much with nonsense, and with whatever one can get stronger, and help each other and be in absolute unity. Recently I heard some voices that come and say – we do not have to go head to head with them, but try to talk to them and try to reach different compromises.

"In the decree of Haman who wanted to annihilate Israel, G-d forbid, there was a Jew named Mordechai Hatzadik, that the Megillah testifies about him that he would "lo yichra velo yishtachave" while all the servants of the king were kneeling and bowing down before him. There were those who tried to say to Mordecai - come and go along with everyone, not head to head, you should not just upset the senior minister of Achashverosh. But he was the only one who would not agree to any compromise, and only that way came the salvation.

"You have to know that all those who due to the circumstances try to talk to them softly and give in a little here and a little there, we tell them clearly nothing. My father, the Yeshuos Moshe zt"l used to say the compromises are only in dinei mamonos (civil law) and not in ikrei hadas (main principles of faith), "do not bend nor bow down"".

The Rebbe concluded: "We have to strengthen in all that I have mentioned, and because of that we will stand firmly against all our enemies and all the decrees will be annulled, and the verse "and all the horns of the wicked I shall cut off, the horns of the righteous shall rise", and we will all together see the redemption speedily in our days, Amen."

At the end of his words, the Rebbe started singing "U'Mordecai lo yichra".
