Going ahead: all information on 'Rally of Million'

The Rally of a Million which will unite all factions of Orthodox Jewry on Sunday, first day of Rosh Chodesh Adar II, was finally launched this morning (Wednesday): Members of the Steering Committee which prepares the rally met with senior police officials and MDA Jerusalem, in order to coordinate the assembly and preparations, when a the public of hundreds of thousands is expected to attend and express their protest against the decree of criminal sanctions.

Due to the vast magnitude, the event will be the responsibility of the National Police, which will publish the map of arrival and roads leading to the rally. Already in the coming hours a briefing for all emergency and rescue forces will be held.

As of this moment, starting at 12:00 noon on the day of the rally, no entry of private vehicles will be allowed into the capital, only by busses parked on Begin Road.

The assembly will be led by all Gedolei Yisroel, Rebbes and Roshei Yeshiva, in the area from the entrance to the city up to the streets of Jaffa and Shivtei Yisrael. The public of women will concentrate on Jaffa Street to Haturim Street.

The rally will open at 16:00 pm, and will include only reciting Tehillim and acceptance of Ol Malchus Shamayim. The chazanim stage will be near the intersection of Mishkenot Ha'umah. There will not be a stage on which Gedolei Yisroel will sit- as in the large rally 15 years ago against the High Court, but each one will be somewhere else with his talmidim and followers.

Towards the rally sub-committees of the Steering Committee were established, including a committee for signage, security, transportation and Media.

In the Certificates and Security Committee members shall be: Deputy Mayor of Jerusalem Yossi Deitch, Israel Kellerman, member of the Ashdod City Council Yaakov Tessler, CEO of Shas Chaim Biton and Shmuel Shapiro.

The signage committee members shall include Yehuda Meshi Zahav, chairman of Zaka who for many years has not dealt with organizing demonstrations and rallies, Yossi Deitch, deputy mayor of Bnei Brak Menachem Shapiro, Yehuda Gelber, Shmuel Shapiro, and Chaim Biton.

Transportation Committee members shall be: Jerusalem City Council member Shlomo Rosenstein, Moshe Aharon Jacobson from Kavim Illit Company, and expert for transport in the Haredi sector Yechiel Herez from Beitar Illit.

Media Committee members will be Yaakov Izak, Binyamin Rabinowitz, Schneior Rosen, Yehoshua Mendel and Yaakov Bezalel, and for visual strategy the advertising agency Kalman V was chosen.

A wall-to-wall unity was recorded: even the Chabad Rabbinical Beis Din, the authoritative body in Chabad, ordered this morning by the Secretary of the Beis Din, the local rabbinic authority of Nachalas Har Chabad Hagaon Rabbi Yitzchak Yehuda Yaroslavsky, that it calls on Chabad Hasssidim to come and attend the important prayer rally.

" All Chabad Hassidim should attend the rally - including yeshiva boys," said Rabbi Yaroslvsky, "very soon the Beis Din will issue an official letter which will be distributed in Chabad communities around the country. Just as the Jewish people of that time gathered together, and fought for their lives, so today, now is the time and this is what needs to be done."
