Sages of Israel from all circles to go to war without compromise against legislation that will turn yeshiva students into draft resisters and impose criminal sanctions on them .
Hgray"l Steinman spoke today (Wednesday) sharply at noon, with great pain and tears that this is a terrible desecration, and asked that the heads of Degel HaTorah , Agudah Yisrael and Shas to gather together to discuss holding a rally of tears and prayer in the city streets against the terrible desecration.
Meanwhile, Satmar Rebbe came to Israel, was received by heads of the Satmar community in Jerusalem and Bnei Brak, a little before 13:00 today (Wednesday) afternoon. Some of the programs planned for this morning were postponed and some were canceled. Excuse for the delay is that the flight left several hours after the original departure time from the U.S., due to snowstorms raging in the United States.
Community leaders approached the Rebbe and welcomed him with the blessing of Shalom Aleichem. Rebbe replied brightly and warmly and inquired what was happening in the country. The activists told him with pain, what was going on this morning on the Law of recruitment and Shaked Committee conclusions , as was apparent borne by criminal sanctions.
At hearing this, the Rebbe's face crumpled with pain and he said firmly: "We shall go out for a gigantic holy war against the trend. We'll put our souls into it; they cannot destroy the people of Israel in a spiritual sense. Not only yeshiva students who are studying will not serve but also boys who are not studying, they will fail to enlist. Our struggle will not be limited to evidence of Ashkenazic origins. Sephardic boys and those from the periphery, for any member of the Haredi community, we will give up our souls, so that will not G-d forbid go through spiritual destruction. "
Rebbe added a cardinal sentence, in the spirit of those days: "We will try to unite with all of Klal Yisrael, with all the departments and communities, in order to combat the recruitment law, to bring the best and the most desirable results."
Later the Rebbe entered the luxurious car waiting for him which drove him to Savion for a short rest. According to the plan, the Rebbe was supposed to daven Shacharis in Jerusalem with the yeshiva students who were waiting for him a long time. However, due to the delay, the Rebbe prayed on the plane, and the joint prayer with the students, was converted to Mincha.
After the Rebbe spoke words of strengthening before the students, a short ceremony was hold for the beginning of writing in the Sefer Torah L'ilui Nishmas Yeshaya Kaufman z"l, one of the yeshiva students who passed away suddenly a month ago.
The reception will be held this evening at the new Talmud Torah in Jerusalem in Har Nof neighborhood with participation of members of the Badatz Eideh Charedi,
