Instead of the trip to Israel - the savings were passed Rebbe

Yesterday (Sunday) was the last day the Satmar Rebbe was given an audience before his trip to Israel.

Rebbe is staying currently in Boro Park, and remained there even today, on the joy of the wedding of his brother , Rabbi Sholom Eliezer Teitelbaum .

At the beginning of the evening fifty-four learners came in who planned to travel with the Rebbe to Israel, but withdrew intention, after the rebbe explained - as published in Behadrey Haredim – that only those who intended to contribute to the purposes for which the Rebbe is traveling, may join.

Avrechim brought Rebbe money saved and planned to spend for travel expenses. Amounts ranging from 1500 to 2500 dollars. Avrechim asked the Rebbe to give out the money as he wishes.

In return, they asked the Rebbe to remember them when he visits the holy places. Rebbe took the money and kvitlech and promised to pray privately for each and every one of them.
