Deri: in normal country governor would resign

Shas Chairman referred today (Monday), at a meeting of the party to the words of Governor Flug who said: "In a normal country she would quit tomorrow."

"Things are serious," said Deri, "mainly because Flug did not talk about integration of Haredim into the economy, but the demographic problem which Haredim create. Every official in this country can take off at the Haredi community as he pleases," he said, "Tomorrow she will tell us to do a sterilization program. She should first talk about the gap between rich and poor classes. In a civilized country she would quit tomorrow", Deri ended.

MK Eliezer Moses of United Torah Judaism said, "The method of 'hit the Haredim and save the economy' has been depleted. Unfortunate that the governor too hitched a ride on the wave of hatred. She is offered to employ some Haredim at the Bank of Israel before accusing them of idleness."

MK Rabbi Israel Eichler commented: "Europe also accused the Jews of curbing economic growth."

MK Yaakov Asher commented: "I'm surprised at the Governor of the Bank of Israel who, as we know, was selected to the displeasure of the Prime Minister and Finance Minister, and has lined up with the government, and its evil spirit."

MK Porush responded that, "It is very serious that the campaign of incitement and lashing out against the Haredi community continues and reaches those who are considered the professional ranks. It is extremely unfortunate that in the spirit of incitement one can throw all the ills of the country on the Haredi sector."
