From prison to Beit Shmuel roof: Pollard's check

Israeli spy Jonathan Pollard, who has been languishing in prison in the U.S., recently donated ten dollars to the Beit Shmuel Yeshiva in Jerusalem.

Recall, on Friday night of the winter snow storm that hit Jerusalem, snow load collapsed the roof of Yeshivat Beit Shmuel , Jerusalem Kiryat Mattersdorf , when hundreds of yeshiva students fled the dining room of the yeshiva .

Following the collapse of the roof heroic efforts succeeded in arranging a temporary synagogue from downstairs, instead of the former old Beit Midrash , distributed tutoring rooms and treasure books . Indeed, the atmosphere at the yeshiva was not affected despite the overcrowding.

The yeshiva immediately published Press Releases in the U.S., asking generous people to contribute to the yeshiva.

One of the newspapers which published articles and ads - announcing in English - rolled to the cell of Israeli prisoner Jonathan Pollard, the story touched his heart and he asked the prison authorities to reduce 10 dollars of the money given to him for shopping canteen in prison, to send them to the yeshiva and indeed the yeshiva recently admitted a donation of $ 10 dollars when the sender is none other than Jonathan Pollard.

Beit Shmuel management confirmed the story and said: "Despite the relatively low total contributions which came to the yeshiva, however we were excited to see someone in trouble and in captivity also thinking of those who don’t have, and $ 10 steal from him many rights he should get , so although it is only $ 10 this is a huge contribution on his part."
