Shaked Committee: started voting for the law

Today (Monday) Shaked Committee will open a marathon of votes, for its final approval of the conscription law committee. The marathon will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Today's vote is expected to include the final version of the committee's recommendations to correct " the Defense Service Law " and a special session proposal deferral arrangement for yeshiva students to study abroad arrangement regarding Chabad students and mission abroad and declared deserters due to non- attendance deferment .

According to the proposal, students can leave for two years without having to report to postpone avenues.

Another issue brought to the Commission for approval today stands compulsory military service for men and women extending compulsory service.

Contentious issue right now among the committee members is the question of criminal sanctions. However, Yesh Atid party members headed by Finance Minister Yair Lapid returned in recent days and declared several times that if criminal sanctions be introduced along the lines of the recommendations of the committee , they will retire from the government.
