Journalists' protest: Absence from press conference because of Rabbi's dignity

Tomorrow (Monday) a joint press conference will be held at the Ministry of Economy, attended by the Minister of Economy Naftali Bennett, Deputy Minister for Religious Affairs Eli Ben- Dahan, and Chief Rabbi of Israel Rabbi David Lau.

But the haredi and religious reporters did not like the fact that the rabbi had to trudge to the office of the Minister. In their opinion, the minister should come to the rabbinate offices in Yahav House and hold the conference there.

Subsequently a long line of reporters from the haredi media decided not to come to the conference to be held at the Ministry of Economy, including the author of these lines, as well as: Goel Vaknin from 'Kol Chai', Ronen Katz from 'Kol Barama', Avi Rosen from 'Yom Leyom', Yitzchak Nahshoni from 'Merkaz Hainyanim', Yaakov Reinitz from 'Hamodia', and reporter of 'Hamevasser' .

However, the office of Rabbi Lau explained that this was only a technical matter. According to them, the rabbinate is not organized for a live broadcast from the conference, so they decided to hold it at the Ministry of Economy.
