Open rift: Toldos Aharon against 'Atra Kadisha'

Heads of Toldos Aharon first attack the organization of Atra Kadisha and its leaders.

Toldos Aharon Hassidus, which belongs to the circle of 'Eida Haredis' protest against Atra Kadisha after last Wednesday the Rebbe was attacked at the organization's rally against the work at the Golovenzitz building site.

The assembly was held in the "Ohel Rachel" of Satmar on Yoel Street, at which Toldos Aharon was attacked by Rabbi Hizkiahu Is"h Tortzin, son-in-law of Atra Kadisha chairman Rabbi David Schmidel.

In a sharp advertisement posted last Friday at the large Beis Midrash of Toldot Aharon, the leaders protest against the "slander and reproach" voiced against the Hasidus and the Rebbe.

Another ad was published handwritten where it was made clear that one should not deviate from the determining of the Beis Din and the Rebbe, "and if they stand aside and do not want to participate in any protests and demonstrations and are not going to protest or say even though there is pressure on them and insist on their position, we too are on the side and no one would change our way."

Another announcement in this spirit appeared in the community, "a bad rumor has reached us that on Wednesday senseless preachers stood with their backs to the ark at Beis Midrash Ohel Rachel on Yoel Street, and opened their mouths with nonsense and corruption against the holy communities and traditions of our ancestors, mocking and undermining the authority of the Torah and the leadership of the generation to undermine the Eida Haredis and its holy communities.

Authors of the ad accuse the attackers of historic persecution of the Hasidus: "Since its inception our group and holy our community, patrons and preachers have risen with the purpose of destroying the survivors, the remains that call to Hashem, and as a returning wheel they wish to interfere with the work of Maran the elder Rebbe zy"a of Jerusalem, and persecuted and blackened the pure scent of the Maran the Rebbe Mohara"i zy"a founder of our institutions, and they are now out to discredit and harm our holy and glorified community and its sacred institutions led by the Rebbe zt"l presidency, the harm and lash out with poison and corruption against thousands of members and trustees of our community and our students who are the crop of the cream of Haredi Jewry."

And the authors conclude: "We must protest the protest at the disrespect of Torah and those who undermine it to destroy the holy communities".

Factors in the Hasidus say that this announcement is a warning sign of the local faction of Satmar, under which all acts of Atra Kadisha are done against Toldos Aharon and the Eida Hareidis.
