Vizhnitzer Rebbe: disasters because of lack of modesty

Yesterday (Tuesday) the Rebbe of Vizhnitz came to console the family of the late Rabbi Shmuel Filmer z"l, one of Hassidei Lelov who died after suffering a malignant disease.

After long minutes of talking in which the Rebbe encouraged the family, one of the sons asked about the meaning of disasters and tragedies that have occurred recently. The Rebbe replied that he does not know, but the problems of this last generation are as a result of the open Internet, speaking during prayer, disdain of talmidei chachamim and controversy which one does not gain anything from.

Further on, the Rebbe quoted the Baal Shem Tov's talmidim regarding the prohibition of speech during prayer and against machlokes.

Finally Rebbe related: "The Tchebiner Rebbe zt"l when he stayed in Jerusalem, refused to rule in halacha. Every time they were asked him to rule he sent to the Rosh Av Beis Din of Jerusalem Rabbi Pinchas Epstein zt"l who was the local rabbi. One person pressurized him greatly and he answered quickly. After a while, he sent his son in law Rabbi Baruch Shimon Schneerson zt"l to apologize on his behalf to the questioner about having answered him hastily. One can see how to respect others," the Rebbe ended.

When the Rebbe left, he told a group of Hasidim who accompanied him: the main problem in the generation is of women that are dressing immodestly and my father the Rebbe zt"l told me "You do not know how much trouble it brings."

Meanwhile, this evening there will be a huge gathering for women of the Hassidus at Arison Auditorium in Tel Aviv. There the Rebbe is expected to give the central speech and fix detailed modesty regulations.
