After serious illness: HAgaon Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv zt"l
Youngest son of Harav Elyashiv - Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv zt"l, passed away at age 71 • Funeral will be held tonight in Givat Shaul

Baruch Dayan Ha'emes: today (Wednesday), Hagaon Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv zt"l, the son of Hagaon Harav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt"l, died at Shaarei Tzedek Hospital in Jerusalem, he was 71 years old.
The deceased suffered a serious illness and lately his health deteriorated and he was hospitalized. He passed away this morning with his family next to his bed and crying 'Shema Yisrael'.
Harav Elyashiva was born in Jerusalem on 20th Tammuz 5703, the youngest son of his father – Hagaon Harav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv zt"l, and his mother, Mrs. Sheina Chaya a"h, the daughter of the Jerusalem tzaddik Rabbi Aryeh Levin zt"l.
He was named after his grandfather Rabbi Avraham Elyashiv, Rav of Homla. In his young age he studied at Hevron Yeshiva with tremendous hasmoda. When he came of age he married his wife, Rebbetzin Yocheved Elyashiv tichye , the school principal of Givat Shaul and principal of the seminary for girls ' Bnot Elyashiv', daughter of Rabbi Zeidel Zalman Heisler zt"l.
He was known throughout his life as humble talmid chocham. He used to help his father Hgry"s zt"l and for a long while he live in his house, being the youngest son.
He was known as a faithful man. Many had entrusted him with treasures and assets – which he guarded faithfully - knowing that they could rely on 'R' Avraham'.
He had received all the halachic customs of his father Hgry"s zt"l from time immemorial and followed his father through a magnifying glass at all times, the most famous hanhagos today are from the notes of Rabbi Avraham.
He used to sit in all the daily lessons next to his father, of blessed memory. The passing of his great father influenced him mostly, and since then his condition deteriorated.
He is survived by a blessed generation: sons and sons in law, grandchildren and descendants, and his brothers – Hagaon Rabbi Shlomo in need of refuah sheleima, Hagaon Rabbi Moshe, Hagaon Rabbi Binyamin David Rosh Kollel of Tiferet Bachurim. His brothers in law: Hagaon Rabbi Chaim Kanievsky, Hagaon R' Azriel Auerbach, Hagaon R' Yitzchak Zilberstein, Hagaon R' Binyanim Rimmer, Hagaon R' A. Berlin, and his sister Rebbetzin Israelzon.
The funeral will leave tonight (Wednesday) at 21:00pm from his home in Givat Shaul, Jerusalem, to Har Hamenuhot where he will be buried with his father Hgry"s zt"l.
May his soul be bound in the bond of life.
