Shock in Monsey: Jewish elderly woman was murdered by stabbing
Monsey: Peggy Nadel 81-year-old identified by her daughter with stabbing signs • Police pursuit to locate killer

Tragedy in Monsey: Peggy Nadel, an elderly 81 -year-old Jewish woman was brutally murdered at her home on the night between Saturday and Sunday, her body was discovered by her daughter.
The incident occurred in a private house on the street where widowed Nadel 81 lived alone.
On Friday the daughter called her mother to ask about her, and received no reply. On Saturday night she tried to call again, without success. The daughter decided to check her at home as to why she does not answer. When she came to her mother she discovered the body lying lifeless on the floor, with stab wounds and violence.
Police called to the scene determined that this is a murder, occurred between Friday-Sunday. An investigation by police said a woman was brutally beaten and then stabbed multiple times.
Stunned neighbors say that Mrs. Nadel was active in the Jewish community in Monsey, and volunteered in various organizations. Volunteers "Chesed She Emes" prevented desecrations of the dead.
Yesterday, police appealed to the neighbors and asked them to hand over security tapes to try to catch the killer. The police tried to calm the neighbors in Monsey and promised to beef up patrol the neighborhood. According to the police assume that the killer, who has not been found, is not a resident of the neighborhood.
