Mourning in the Hebron Yeshiva in Jerusalem upon the passing of Hgr"y Landau zt"l, one of the Roshei Yeshiva of Hebron Yeshiva who passed away at the age of 59.
During the last few years he was unwell, and many prayed for his recovery. Gedolei Yisrael added the name Chezkiyahu and hundreds of students prayed for him around the clock, but this afternoon he returned his soul to its Creator at the Sheba Hospital in Tel Hashomer.
Hgr"y zt'l was born in Jerusalem in the month of Adar תשי"ד to his father Hagaon Reb Kalman Landau, Ra"m at Yeshivas Kochav MiYaakov in Chebin and his mother Esther (Trager),
As a boy he studied and was educated at the Hebron Yeshiva in Jerusalem where he learned and was well liked by his Rabbanim.
He married the daughter of Rabbi Avraham Reisner from Bnei Brak and moved to live there.
He later served as Ra"m in Hebron Geula Yeshiva and later in Givat Mordechei.
His shiurim were very popular amongst the yeshiva world, he was well liked by everyone and was a very serious Talmid Chacham.
His neighbors say that Reb Yitzchak was a tzaddik nistar, always welcomed people into his home, he would hide his illness and whenever asked he said Baruch Hashem, until this past month no one knew about his illness.
His brothers are: Hgr"y Landau, Ra"m at Yesh
ivat Ateret Yisrael and Hgr'm Landau, Ra"m at Netivot Chochma in Jerusalem.
He left a generation of children and grandchildren who contionue in his path. His son in law is Hgr"y Weinberg, Ra"m at Yeshivat Ponovicz.
His funeral will leave this evening (Sunday) at 19:30 from the Hebron Beit Midrash, and from there to Hebron Givat Mordechei Yeshiva at 21:30 to Har Hamenuchos where he will be laid to rest.
