Minister for Jerusalem and Diaspora, Naftali Bennett, serves this morning (Sunday) the government annual report on anti-Semitism.
According to a survey conducted by the FRA, human rights arm of the EU, EU Jews feel threatened regularly by the anti Semitic atmosphere.
The poll of about 6,000 participants was held in eight major European countries, in which about a million Jews live in and are 90 % of the Jews in the Union. The countries are Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Sweden and the UK.
According to the report scope incidents did not occur significantly in the past year, but in 2012 there was an increase of 30 % compared to 2011.
According to the report 23 % of respondents do not participate in Jewish cultural events or Jewish institutions in case they are hurt along the way. 33 % responded that they do not leave the house with signs identifying as Jewish yarmulke or a Star of David. One out of every three Jews fear that they may fall victim to anti-Semitic attacks and a fifth of Jews are considering migrating from their country.
About a quarter of respondents reported that they had experienced bullying over the past year against their Judaism, which included among other things verbal insult.
76% stated that anti-Semitism intensified during the last five years.
Countries where there is a worsening of anti-Semitism are: Hungary, France, Belgium and Sweden.
In Hungary the main reason is the strengthening of the extreme right. France and Belgium source of anti-Semitism are a strengthening of radical Islam.
Howeverthere is a puzzling cooperation when anti Semitism joins the left and the extreme right against the Jews.
