"Relied on article from remote Internet site"

In response to Rabbi of Geneva's words against Hgr"d Lau and MK Uri Maklev, they blame Rabbi Schlesinger for reliance on a dubious article in Internet • What really happened in the Knesset? • How is the case related to the words of deputy editor of Hapeles? • What is the response by Chief Rabbi and MK's bureau?

The storm of the sharp attack by Rabbi of Geneva, Hgr"i Schlesinger, on the Chief Rabbi Hgr"d Lau and MK Uri Maklev, for allegedly attending the bar mitzvah of MK Eliezer Moses' grandson , which his daughter Heidi Moses conducted in the Knesset, continues to make waves.

In the surroundings of the Chief Rabbi and MK Maklev they deny it, and clarify that it was a bar mitzvah mass for welfare children, who were joined by Moses' son. "Rabbi Schlesinger relied altogether on an article he found in some remote Internet site," says a close associate of the Chief Rabbi, and hints that this attack joins a series of attacks by members of 'Hapeles' on Gedolei Yisrael.

"When the deputy editor of Hapeles attacked Gedolei Yisrael, and then the truth was thrown at him in the Mishpacha newspaper, he apologized that his words were based on a story online, probably Hgra"i Yaffe continues in this way," he explains.

As published in Behadrey Haredim, Rabbi Schlesinger made his comments at a sheva brochos of the benefactor Rabbi Yitzhak Shapiro's son, held last week in the City Tower Halls.

In a conversation with associates of Rabbi David Lau, they relate the details of the case as it was: "The Rabbi was invited by the chairman of the Knesset Interior Committee Miri Regev to speak at a special Bar Mitzvah for fifty-two children of the welfare in Jerusalem and Ma'ale Adumim. These are orphaned children from broken families. The Rabbi welcomed the participants and gave them a customary warmth and encouragement so essential to them, and as required for his role."

"That day Moses and her son walked about in the Knesset, and later wrote in the social network that she made her son who reached the age of 12, a Bat Mitzvah, and allegedly took part in the party. During her stay in the Knesset she walked over to the rabbi and told him that the child has a 'birthday'. The Rabbi blessed him and emphasized that 12 years has a meaning in Halacha, and from now he should be careful with his words as he is obliged with the laws of vows 'mufla samuch le'ish'".

Associates of MK Uri Maklev display a similar sequence of events: "The child's mother went down the hall and told the rabbi that "the child has a birthday". The Rabbi blessed him that he should 'grow in Torah and fear of Heaven', and agreed to be photographed with him."

The Chief Rabbi's office and the office of MK Uri Maklev said: "It is beneath our dignity to respond to this load of words. Hopefully the rabbi will come to his senses and loudly publish a clarification and apology as required..."
