Batteries of Iron Dome were placed today (Monday) Ashdod and Beersheba, due to the firing of rockets from Gaza into southern Israel.
As recalled, yesterday (Sunday) for the second time, Ashdod Municipality announced to parents that schooling in buildings where there is no protection for students - will be cancelled.
Last weekend six rockets were fired from Gaza at Ashkelon area, and miraculously the Iron Dome intercepted five of them which were supposed to explode in populated areas and G-d forbid cause casualties. Another rocket landed in an open area.
Following this incident, the municipality announced that on Friday there will be no studies in educational institutions which are not protected. But this incident was repeated yesterday. In the afternoon, the municipality announced to parents of children being educated in educational institutions which are not protected (trailers, etc.), that in view of the continued escalation and after evaluation of the situation which Ashdod Mayor Dr. Yechiel Lassry, held, they have to come take their children home immediately.
The Home Front Command said to Behadrey Haredim that the current situation is routine, "currently as far as we are concerned, there is no guideline to send the children home, this is a consideration of the municipality."
Today, after placing the Iron Dome battery this morning, a renewed meeting was held at the City Hall, and it was decided to return to normal in all schools.
Since on Saturday night the Palestinians fired a Qassam rocket at the Shaar Hanegev Regional Council, the IDF attacked two terrorist targets in southern and central Gaza Strip.
Prime Minister Netanyahu addressed yesterday (Sunday), at the start of the weekly cabinet meeting, the situation in the South and said: "We are determined to keep the peace in the south. We do this by a policy of prevention in advance and powerful reaction against those who try to harm us or hurt us. I suggest to Hamas to take into account this policy of ours."
