Charges were filed on the attempted murder case in Bnei Brak

Tel Aviv District Attorney filed today (Monday) in the District Court an indictment against two defendants, Shlomo Dahan, 25, and Yoel Ben Nissan 19, of Bnei Brak, for offenses of attempted murder, conspiracy crime (murder), possession of weapons, carrying and transporting a weapon, threats and obstruction of justice.

According to the indictment, filed by attorney Zohar Dolev, the defendants conspired to murder Yehuda Katlan, and for this purpose stocked a gun. On 20th Shevat, around 22:30, they waited in their car until he left the restaurant on Etzel street corner of Ben Eliezer Ramat Gan. Katalan left the restaurant, got into another vehicle driven by his friend and drove toward Hashomer Street in Bnei Brak. Along the route Dahan and Katlan exchanged cursing and swearing, and the accused threatened the victim by pointing his gun at him.

At around 22:40, the guard the cars stopped on Hashomer Street and the accused, the victim and his friend both left the vehicles. When Katlan approached the accused, Dahan tried, with the knowledge and approval of Ben-Nissan, to cause the death of Katlan, by firing at least three shots, which were aimed at the chest of the victim, who was standing a short distance from the respondents. Dahan then threatened Katlan's friend whilst pointing the gun at him and ordered him to leave the scene.
As a result of the acts of the defendants, Katalan collapsed, suffering from two bullet holes in his heart and four bullet holes in the lungs.

Immediately following described above, intentionally to prevent or obstruct judicial process and suppress evidence, the defendants entered their vehicle, fled the scene, hid the gun and the car and a few hours later at around 5:20, went to Ben Gurion airport, and bought tickets, in order to flee the country.

They bought tickets to Thailand, where they planned to run away, but after it became clear that the flight is too late, they purchased a ticket for the first flight which is supposed to leave the country, to Spain. But before the flight took off they were arrested and detention was extended until the end of proceedings.

The defendants holding a sum of money, NIS 8662, 3750 dollars, Euro 1000 and -3460 baht (Thai currency), and a Breitling company watch which were forfeited as part of the judicial process.
