Two yeshiva students entered the river channel of Amud Stream this afternoon, but after dark, a call was received by the ZAKA emergency line 1220 for their absence.

For hours, searches were conducted for the two boys from Kiryat Melech Yeshiva, Bnei Brak, who left at noon to go to Nahal Amud and lost their way. Only at midnight they were located safe and well.

The two youngsters aged 18-20, entered the Amud Stream channel at about 14:00pm. In the late evening they phoned their friend that they got mixed up during the course of the hike, but think they know how to get out. But only at 20:30, they realized that they were on the wrong way, and they have no idea how to get out.

Their friend who answered, quickly turned to the Zaka call center, noting that in the cell phone which belongs to his friends, the battery ran out, making it difficult for locating and extricating them. Instead, the travelers had given some description of where they were.

Upon receiving the call at Zaka center, Chaim Weingarten, commander of the Operations Division, hurried propel the Western Galilee Rescue Unit, which organized quickly and went out to search for the yeshiva students.

"This is a moon night," notes Weingarten, "so that they have light in abundance, but the danger is the cold which prevails, and from what their friend described they do not have especially warm clothes. I hope that the SWAT team finds them quickly and will rescue them safely."

Guy Garbersky, commander of the Western Galilee Rescue Unit, during the conversation with Behadrey Haredim, received an update that the missing were found while healthy and well.

"There is a temperature of 8 degrees during this season, which can easily lead to hypothermia (a drop in body temperature). They had a miracle we found them fast. Following the call, teams of 16 rescuers went out, and in addition four outsiders ran the event. These are two boys aged 18 and 20, and now they are now being extracted by the unit volunteers."
