New York City police said today (Wednesday) that they found the vehicle used by the abductors and murderers of estate magnate the late Menachem Stark.
Police said they found the Dodge vehicle used by the abductors and murderers of Menachem Stark, the Daily News reported.
Vehicle with license plates from 2000 Pennsylvania apparently was located in Brownsville Brooklyn yesterday, police sources said.
When police detectives swooped on the vehicle, a man emerged from the vehicle and tried to escape. He was detained and questioned but no correlation was found between him and the act of murder.
Police towed the car to a garage and passed a comprehensive examination, but it turned out that the kidnappers thoroughly cleaned the car and have not found so far, all traces that may indicate the murderer. But forensic investigators police continue to examine the vehicle.
Stark was kidnapped on January 2nd near his Williamsburg office and was found dead the next day on Long Island.
Police sources claim that the prime suspect at the moment is a businessman who probably hired people to kidnap Stark. Mobile phone which was found connected to the vehicle's undercarriage connects to that businessman.
Police believe that the intent of the kidnapping was just to scare Stark, to pay his debt, but he struggled during his abduction and the abductors sat on him and strangled him to death.
