Is everything sorted out? The Defense Minister published tonight (Tuesday) an official statement in which he apologizes to the Secretary of State Kerry.
Defense Minister Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon, officially apologized to U.S. Secretary of State for saying that he is "acting out of an inexplicable obsession and messianic feeling" and that he suggested he was acting out of personal motives to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
"Israel and the United States are partners in the efforts to promote peace negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, led by Secretary of State Kerry," said Ya'alon.
The Defense Minister did not retract his statement but stressed that, "We appreciate the many efforts of the Secretary of State for this purpose. The Minister of Defense did not intend to harm the Secretary of State, and apologizes if the Secretary of State was offended by comments attributed to the Minister".
According to a report in Yedioth Ahronoth, Defense Minister Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon attacked Secretary of State John Kerry sharply, and said in private conversations that "Kerry is determined and acts out of an inexplicable obsession and messianic sense. He can not teach me anything about the conflict with Palestinians."
"There are no negotiations with the Palestinians at all, but with the Americans. We are releasing murderers and the Palestinians are not giving anything. The only thing that can "save" us is that John Kerry will win the Nobel Prize, and leave us alone."
"The security plan they presented us is not even worth the paper it was written on. It has no security or peace. Only our continued presence in Judea and Samaria and the Jordan Valley will ensure that Ben-Gurion Airport and Netanya will not become targets of rocket attacks from all sides."
