The murder of the late Menachem Stark, reminded many of the murder of the child Leiby Kletzky z"l, and again demonstrated the importance of security cameras.
This week the promised cameras following the Kletzky tragedy, to the residents of Borough Park were finally installed.
According to plan a hundred cameras will be installed at central points in the neighborhoods of Flatbush and Borough Park and calamity prone areas.
Installing security cameras which cost a million dollars comes delayed due to power struggles revolved around the question, "Who will oversee the security tapes."
The police demanded she be allowed only to monitor them to prevent crimes and breaking the law in the neighborhood.
But rabbis and community leaders working with Orthodox drop out youth demanded control of the security tapes. It was suggested order in which those who oversee the security cameras will be representative of Agudath Yisrael of America and private investigations company, approved by the police.
Long negotiations conducted over the past year, between the activists, Agudath Yisrael of America and the police, demanding exclusive control and meanwhile a million dollars lay in the drawer gathering dust.
Eventually Agudath Yisrael succumbed to and installing the cameras went off. Though the official responsible for Agudath Yisrael of America on the project budgeted by government funds.
