Ended by miracle: the pit remained open and a child fell in
9 year old boy fell into the IEC hole this morning on the corner of 13th Avenue and 49th Street in the center of Borough Park • rescued safe and healthy

This morning (Tuesday), a boy of about nine fell into a open pit on 13th Avenue in the center of Borough Park.
The boy was on his way to school when he fell into the pit. Meir Ehrenfeld who was there said: "I just left Chase Bank, and entered the vehicle when someone approached the car and knocked hysterically on the window.
"I opened the window and the man pointed to the pit and told me the child fell into it. I rushed into the pit and saw a child screaming, I ran to call the rescue forces and the police, while I tried to calm the child down.
"Rescue forces arrived within a minute; the man went into the hole and pulled the boy out. The child was wet and scared but in good condition. He was taken to Lateran hospital for tests and police who arrived opened an investigation to examine why the pit was open."
