Non Kosher meat market attempt avoided after supervisor spread the news on a wassup group

Thanks to Wassup: non-kosher meat markets avoided

A truck driver was caught today (Monday) , trying to sell non-kosher poultry in Ashkelon. The meat bore the marking that read "Kosher by International Kraite Congregation."

Poultry slaughtered by the Karaite practice are unclean animals but on the waybill of all goods read "Kosher by Lod Rabbinate."

Inspectors of the local rabbinate in Ashkelon prevented the unloading of merchandise at kosher butcher shops then photographed the truck and spread the details in wassup (instant messaging on cell phones) of kashrus employees in the Southern District, managed - by the only national law enforcement prohibiting fraud.

Shortly after the truck driver tried to unload goods in Netivot, but the head of the religious kashrus council, which was briefed in advance by a wassup group prevented the unloading of goods in business faculties in his city.

From the Chief Rabbinate it was informed that the matter would be taken against those measures by law.

Head of the national law enforcement prohibiting fraud, Rafi Yochai, said that "It is remarkable to see halachic discussion on wassup coming from people in the field, and combine theory and practice."
