Last Friday was a black day in the history of Lakewood, with not less than one hundred and fifty accidents.
Among the dozens of wounded who came to the hospital was Mayor Menachem Miller, whose car slid in the snow and caused a car accident.
Miller was injured on his way to help residents stranded on the roads due to bad weather.
On Friday in Lakewood cold weather came to minus three degrees. Freezing rain iced over roads.
"It felt like ice skating," described Moishe Ehrenberg who was also injured in the accident.
Hatzalah chairman said that the mayor worked tirelessly throughout Friday and was in regular contact with all staff members of the rescue organizations who recruited to helping people who were injured. Only later it became known that the mayor himself was amongst the volunteers.
