Stark's partner enraged: "slandering my name"

Israel Perlmutter, partner of the late Menachem Stark z"l, is furious at the fact that his name was thrown into the murder case, says his lawyer to VIN site.

The New York media reported that Israel Perlmorter, partner of the benefactor Menachem Stark z"l, a real estate developer who was kidnapped and murdered in New York, is a suspect in the crime.

"He is angry and very upset about it and I do not know what their source is," said attorney Henry Mazarok, "but the New York Police gave no publicly to any suspects. I would have also been surprised if it did so".

"I am a criminal lawyer," he said, "and I know that homicide detectives are very careful about maintaining the highest level of discretion. The police do not leak."

He said Perlmutter, who still mourns the death of his partner, cooperated with the police all the way. "He is the one who immediately went to all businesses who were in the area of the office in order to obtain evidence and video tapes that might have documented the kidnapping," he said.

"We trust that police investigators are now working to crack the case and are not busy with leaks," he finished.

New York police spokesman declined to comment on whether Perlmutter is indeed suspected.
