Hgr"o Yosef zt"l left behind a very respectable crop of books written by him and thousands of books which are estimated at high monetary value.

Volumes of the Talmud in which Hgr"o himself studied, at the end of the month will be offered for auction in the auction house Kedem in Jerusalem. According to the report this morning (Tuesday) of Yehuda Schlesinger in Israel Hayom, home sales estimate that the set of the Talmud will be sold at a price ranging 40 to 50 thousand dollars. The set offered for sale comprises a total of 19 volumes. Books were published in Munich, Germany in 1949, and this is the first printed edition of the Talmud completely after the Holocaust by the rabbis of the refugee camps in Germany.

Edition was designed especially to mark the occasion printing in Germany, with illustrations of a Jewish town and work camp and the caption "Ashkenazi labor camp during the Nazi era" and the verse from Psalms "Almost alone in the world, and I did not leave your teachings…" In some books appears the signature of Harav Ovadia Yosef, and in other volumes his additions written in the Gemara .

Compared with the vehicle was used by Hgr"o, which was recently sold by the rental company against the wishes of the family, to the set is attached a letter confirming its authenticity by one of his sons.

Leasing Company recently offered for sale the vehicle used by Harav Ovadia zt"l for two years, and noted that this is a vehicle with blessing."

Hgr"o's family heard about the sale and were furious: "It is very annoying and infuriating to us that someone is trying to make money in memory of the Rabbi ," said one family member to Israel Hayom , "How dare they do that? Trading the Rabbi and make him such contempt. Unfortunately we have no control of such a thing. "

It should be noted of Hgr"o's family, these were his sons, when they were children; they used to cut the pages and discard them.

Maron Erren, Director of Sales at Kedem, considered one of the world's largest sales of Judaica, said that "since the death of Rabbi there is excitement among collectors with every item related to him."

Meanwhile, the Ministerial Committee on Interior and services yesterday approved the plan to pave Highway 16 interchange linking the origin of the western neighborhoods of Jerusalem and will serve as another entrance to the capital. The project cost is estimated at $ 1.3 billion. Minister of Transport Yisrael Katz decided to call the new entrance to the city in the name of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef zt"l. "Road will symbolically connect the two great men, the late Prime Minister Menachem Begin and Rabbi Ovadia Yosef," said Katz.
