Menachem Stark Hy"d.
The heinous murder of Rabbi Menachem Stark hy"d does not leave the public agenda in New York: the victim's brothers-in-law held a press conference today (Monday) where they promised a reward of 25 thousand dollars to anyone who brings information about the killers.
Activist Rabbi Moshe David Niderman told reporters: "No one can describe the pain we are going through, the family and the community. Capturing the killer will not reduce the pain of a thriving family, like a flowering tree which was cut all at once, the children have no father, the woman has no husband, why? What did he do?" said Niderman.
Moshe Sterolovitz, brother in law of Stark said: "My brother-in-law was a wonderful person, a wonderful father, a wonderful husband and wonderful brother-in-law, in the entire community there isn't a single person who would say a bad word about my brother-in-law. We the Haredi community, are not looking for revenge. Good things happen by good people and bad things by bad people, G-d will punish the murderer anyway."
Assemblyman Joe Lentol sharply attacked the coverage of several media outlets in New York, which had leashed out and judged Stark before the circumstances of the murder were known: "Many people are murdered with money in their pocket, diamond merchants and businessmen. People are kidnapped and murdered, but the media does not report on them in such detail as they did in Stark's case. We do not yet know why Stark was killed, the media for its part, has already determined why Stark was murdered. I do not understand why the media chose to focus on the negative stories instead of the positive ones. I know he was a wonderful person who did a lot of human kindness " .
Avraham Buksbaum, another brother-in-law of Stark, also tried to speak about his brother-in-law but choked with tears and could not continue.
During the day, the wave of protests continued against the New York Post following the title it chose to report on the murder: "Who did not want him dead?". Agudath Israel in the United States, an umbrella organization of Young Israel, and news channel CNC reported extensively on the unfair coverage of the New York Post newspaper and about the abominable murder.
