To the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court two suspects were brought suspected of fire and an assassination attempt that occurred last week on Sunday, in which was seriously injured Yehuda Katlan - 24-year-old resident. The next day, (Monday) in the morning, were arrested Shlomo Dahan, 25, and Yoel Ben Nissan 19 at Ben Gurion Airport as they try to leave the country to Spain. Remand extended till today.
Attorney Tobol Rotem, the suspect's counsel Yoel Ben Nissan, said that it was the second overtime, "we learn that a number of developments in the investigation, but his face does not trust anything to him and he was not questioned except the initial investigation. I see added charges very strange that included It does not say another suspect more charges and he was not asked about it. Police seeking 10 days and this time request a second. We learn that other detainees and think there is room to reduce the days and monitor the investigation, and we talk about the allegations that have matured evidence linking him to the event and only a suspicion for both. I will request a reduction".
"I expected the probing unit extending second arrest as she expects the suspects will cooperate, I would expect they will return answers," said Mr. Itzkowitz, counsel for the suspect Shlomo Dahan. "I realized that except Friday he questioned easy questions not investigated or anything. Would expect investigative unit will come with a barrage of evidence and what is attributed to him." He added: "The last time the court has extended the detention for several days quite a bit, and if the evidence is clears to her why no indictment today?" He asked. "What struck me, they work using a fishing trip if I get evidence, I get them from other places."
Judge Shmuel Melamed said that before a request to extend the detention of the suspects, who were arrested on suspicion of trying to cause death and obstructing justice. "A review of the investigation file shows that there is a reasonable suspicion against the suspects for their alleged offenses," the judge wrote. "After hearing the parties' arguments and reviewing the investigation file, I find that there is an evidentiary basis which establishes a reasonable suspicion against the suspects in respect of the offenses previously suspected, and that there is cause for arrest."
He decided to grant the police in part, and ordered the extension of the arrest of two suspects until 08/01/14 at 12:00.
