Conscription law: Hoenlein will mediate between Netanyahu and Gedolei Yisrael

First Published: Vice Chairman of the Conference of Presidents of the United States Malcolm (Isaac) Hoenlein, will arrive in Israel to mediate between Israel government leaders and Gedolei Yisrael concerning the conscription law.

Hoenlein who wears a kippa and is close to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will land in Israel Monday and will mediate between Netanyahu and Gedolei Yisrael.

He will spend about a week and a half in Israel and is scheduled for meetings with: Gerrer Rebbe. Belzer Rebbe. Hgray"l Steinman, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Ayelet Shaked.

He is expected to work opposite Shaked by mission of the Gedolei Yisrael, trying to reach an understanding on the subject of sanctions imposed on non-enlist yeshiva students.

Recall, a meeting was held at the home of Menachem Gesheid who is close to the Prime Minister and Rabbis, HaRav Grossman and Hgr"s Rabinowitz.

Malcolm spoke with participants at the meeting and promised that if the Moetzet campaign is canceled, will come down and try to help with his connections, to build up on the Law of the draft.

The parties also are considering the possibility Hoenlein will participate in a joint meeting with all members of the Council during which will hear their opinions about how he must act.
