The Queen of England gives a rare honorary degree to Orthodox Jew

Buckingham Palace in London announced that the Queen of England has decided to give a rare award to businessman Rabbi Yitzvhak Shapira, the son of Rabbi Avraham Yosef Shapira, a leader of Yahadut Hatorah and former MK.
Title "Officer of the Order of the British Empire" will be awarded to Rabbi Shapiro in recognition of his contribution and his contribution to enhancing ties between Britain and the Haredi community.
Upon receiving the notification Rabbi Shapira said: "I'm very excited by the rare gesture in which the British royal family gives me an honorary degree in recognition of outreach activity between the British Government and Haredi Judaism. As an Orthodox Jew and first winner of this status due to community activity, I see it as a great honor for Orthodox community in Israel and the UK. Someone who is active in intensive subjects included Jewish England and Israel realized many times in relation to the warm and supportive attitude of the British government for the purposes of our community. Tribute to confer the highest honor given public expression attributed to him has for the royal family and the British government to the Haredi public. "
Matthew Gould, British Ambassador added: "I am very pleased that Her Highness has chosen to honor Mr. Yitzchak Shapira this title. His ongoing efforts and help for us to build a relationship based on companies and respect between the UK and the Haredi community. Mr. Shapiro spent a long time over many years to help me and my predecessor recognize this vital and important part of this society.
