Tzaddik comes to town: Rabbi David Yosef in Los Angeles

Rabbi David Yosef came to Los Angeles in order to strengthen the Jewish community. On his first day in the city Hgr"d began with a shiur given at the home of the famous benefactor Rabbi Tzvi Reisman, author of the book 'Ratz Katzvi'.

The shiur was given with the participation of rabbis of the city of Los Angeles, Harav Hagaon Moshe Hafuta, head of community Da'at Torah and author of Siftei Da'at, Hagaon Rabbi Ezra Dweck, head of Beit Midrash Od Yosef Chai, Hagaon Gavriel Cohen, Dayan of the town, Rabbi David Toledano, Rabbi Avshalom Azulay, Rabbi Yitzhak Laserif, Rabbi of Kehillat Ahavat Shalom - Maryland and more.

From there Hgr"d went to the home of the benefactor David Azarwal, where the letter writing for a Sefer Torah took place by Rabbi Moshe Ben-Zaken and attended by Hagaon Rabbi Moshe Hafota, grandson of the Baba Sali, Rabbi Yechiel Turgeman and Harav Hagaon Raphael Avitan, Rosh Yeshiva Ner Israel in Elad, with Rabbi Yehuda Moses, Rav of Magen David synagogue, overseeing the proceedings, and from there the procession left toward the synagogue.

The Seudat Mitzvah was then held grandly at the famous 26 Restaurant, where family Azarwal gathered from around the globe, including the father of the family who came from Morocco, a brother who came from Germany and a sister from Paris, and was attended by important rabbis. During the evening Rabbi David Yosef and Rabbi Moshe Hafota spoke.

Rabbi Yosef continued from there to the Sephardic rabbis conference, where they discussed the affairs of communities.

The next day Hgr"d visited the magnificent synagogue "Baba Sali" of Rabbi Arush, where he was received with great excitement and told of his father's greatness Harav Ovadia zt"l, how he used to wander all over the country and the world to give words of Torah and strengthen the public.
