Less than a day: 10 killed in another attack in Russia

In less than 24 hours another deadly attack shook the streets of the city of Volgograd in eastern Russia. According to reports in the country, at least 10 people were killed and dozens were injured in an explosion on a bus traveling in the city. It is not yet known what the background of the explosion is.

Yesterday at least 14 people were killed in a powerful explosion that occurred at a railway station in the city, after a female suicide bomber blew herself up. Russian news agencies reported dozens of injured were evacuated to hospitals in the city. On October 21 there was a suicide bomber attack in that city, which killed 21 people.
"I heard a very loud explosion, immediately ran towards it," said eyewitness channel Russia 24. "I saw the windows melted; cut metal pieces such as paper, glass everywhere and several bodies lying in the street." Alexandra another witness also said that she heard the powerful explosion. "Everything was shaking all over."

If estimates are correct, and radical Muslim groups were behind the attack, the Moscow authorities may take extreme measures to clarify the administration would not tolerate acts of terrorism - especially not towards and during the Sochi Winter Olympics which opens in less than six weeks.

Last Friday, a car bomb exploded in Fitigorsk southern Russia, an attack that killed three people. Volgograd, not so far away Mfitigorsk, is a much larger city where a million live. It is located 690 km Sochi - where the Olympics will be held.

Volgograd, northern Caucasus Mountains, is the capital of the mostly Muslim region which knew many attacks by extremist organizations over the years. Docu Aomarov, leader of the Muslim - Chechen extremist, called his men to use all the power to prevent Russia to make the Olympics which are so important to President Putin.
