A short while ago, the body of a 17.5 -year-old resident of Ibn Gabirol Street in Bnei Brak, who missing since Saturday night, was found lifeless, lying in a ditch in Kiryat Herzog.

The boy had been missing since Saturday night, but his parents complained about his absence only on Sunday.

Israeli police with the assistance of volunteers of United Hatzalah of Bnei Brak, opened this morning (Monday) the search for the 17-year old haredi boy as they feared for his life. A command post was established near the Ayalon Mall in Bnei Brak. The jeeps unit and cavalry unit of the Dan Region police, and dozens of paramedics of Ichud Hatzala with ambulances and motorcycles of the organization, participated in searches.

As mentioned, at around 11:40 the missing boy was located lifeless and his body burnt, in a ditch between the Chinuch school and Em Hamoshavot road.

The missing, who had a criminal record, was apparently torched to death elsewhere, and was thrown into the canal from the road.

According to residents, on Saturday night they reported of a sharp smell of a fire at the place, but after a scan nothing was found.

Police opened an investigation, and examined the possibility of a link between the incident yesterday in the shooting case - but announced that certainly there is no connection between the cases. At five o'clock an assessment of the situation will be take place in the Dan District, and on that occasion the district commander will relate to the two events of the last two days.

Tel Aviv police spokesman said: "Following the body which was discovered in the Dan district, there is now a mobile laboratory on the scene which will determine whether it is a murder or suicide event, at this point the body is connected to a missing event from Saturday night, of a 17.5 year-old minor, the parents complained of his absence only yesterday, and since then a command post was set up for detection, following searches by foot two veterans from the Dan district located the body as it lay in a thicket of bushes. The body was found burnt, by the initial appearance and body build this is the minor who was missing, it is not yet been clarified finally. The scene has been closed and as said, a mobile laboratory has arrived to determine whether the event it is a criminal or suicidal one."
