Haredi attorney involved in the case - International art forgery

The gag order was lifted on the name of an Israeli lawyer suspected in an affair concerning money laundering offenses and trafficking considerable amounts of counterfeit works of art: Avi Lavi, an Orthodox lawyer specializing in criminal.

Conducting investigation for several months blade unit 433 in conjunction with the tax authority, the Prohibition of Money Laundering and Financing of Terrorism and law enforcement agencies abroad and accompanied by the Tel Aviv District Attorney Taxation and Economy.

Lawyer's name was banned at the request of the court's decision on attorney making an open investigation six months ago, and the decision of the Court accepted the state's position on the issue, the name and everything involvement now permitted for publication.

Among those arrested in the case six months ago: Shalom Naim, a resident of Netanya, Yechiel Hochberg resident of Bnei Brak, Lior Yosef Gilboa resident of Ramat Gan, Yitzhak Gabso resident of Givattayim, Yosef Hochberg resident of Petah Tikva and a lawyer whose name was imposed a gag order.

Attorney Avi Lavi has not yet been questioned in the case, since before it was even open investigation in June left the country and had not yet returned, even after being notified that he was wanted for questioning in respect of the allegations against him.

Judge noted in its decision that "due to the intensity suspicions, elapsed time, avoiding the appellant from returning to Israel impairing promoting investigations and the discovery of truth, eliminating gag details are justified."

The investigation involved were arrested and interrogated in Israel and abroad, caught a lot of property including works of art, assets and bank accounts and the investigation is still continuing by the blade 433 and all entities, including law enforcement agencies and police departments abroad.
