Tragedy in Montreal: Jewish man drowned in mikveh

Tragedy in Montreal: Jewish man, 61, found lifeless in the mikveh.

The incident occurred on Thursday last week at the mikvah of Square chassidim in Montreal, when the late Albert Pinto, a Jewish member of the local community, was found dead at the mikveh.

Yeruham Rabinowitz who was there said: "I went to the mikveh and I saw an elderly man, with his head hanging down in the water. Tried to talk to him but he did not answer.

"Ten minutes after I left the rescue forces arrived but they were forced to confirm his death."

According to doctors hypothesis the man apparently suffered a heart failure at the mikveh, and the local organization sponsoring the case to the deceased without to avoid autopsy and the deceased will be brought to Jewish burial.

The deceased, is by evidence of local Jews a solitary Jew who would pray at the Beis Midrash of chassidim. "Organization Chessed Shel Emes, says Rabinowitz, will take care of him and will make him a funeral ," says Rabinowitz .
