At the entrance to Bnei Brak, on Avraham ben David Street corner Hashomer, a young man of about 24, known to the police from crime, particularly drug abuse – was shot and injured, apparently due to power struggles between rival criminal gangs.

Drives of Ichud Hatzala and Gush Dan Hatzala, gave him primary health care, and he was taken in a critical condition by MDA ambulance to Tel Hashomer Hospital.

According to the report from the trauma ward in hospital, where he is sedated and on a respirator, one bullet penetrated his chest and out the other side, while another bullet remained inside him.

P. who was passing by in a vehicle, tells Behadrey Haredim: "I heard three or four shots, and looked toward the source of noise, where I noticed a young man with a white hoodie who collapsed." Other citizens said they had seen a white colored vehicle which fled from the scene quickly. "It would seem he stepped out of a car and was then shot," said P.

Tel Aviv police said that shots were heard on Hashomer Street near the Coca Cola intersection. An initial investigation shows that a man was shot by two suspects who fled in a vehicle.

A number of suspects were detained.

Commander Shimon Lavi, commander of the Israel Police in Dan District said, "It was reported of four shots which were fired towards Hashomer Street from Highway 4. Teams of police and paramedics which arrived at the place noticed a man in his twenties, lying on the floor with a number of bullets in his body.
