Fear of escalation? Iron Dome was placed at Sderot

Following the escalation of the terrorist acts , reflected in the latest series of attacks , the IDF decided to place a battery of the Iron Dome system in Sderot , due to concerns of renewal of rocket fire from Gaza, despite the silence in the sector after the IDF attack yesterday (Tuesday) in Gaza.

The IDF said in response that "they do not specify the operational deployment of the system."

But this is not a single placement , and the Air Force are preparing for placing the Iron Dome system also at other sites in the south, in addition to the battery installed in a permanent manner in Ashkelon .

Defense Minister Moshe (Bogie) Ya'alon , said today during a visit to the exercise of the Givati Brigade Mount: " We practice , while our eyes scouting different areas and the Gaza Strip - After yesterday there was an event which unfortunately ended with disaster. I want to give my condolences to the family of Salah Abu - Latif, who worked for a contractor over the fence and was hit by a sniper."

Ya'alon added: "For us Hamas is in control in Gaza. Is responsible for what is happening there. We expect also imposed his authority over his people and the other organizations. If he will not do it we will respond harshly."

" We are preparing for the possibility of escalation; there is the placement of Iron Dome batteries, and other preparations that someone on the other side thinks otherwise. Clear to us that the attacks in Judea and Samaria are the product of incitement to whoever is responsible for it is the Palestinian Authority, which educates hatred of Israel, and unfortunately we have to deal with this, "he said.

Ya'alon was asked if the terror wave will delay or cancellation the third phase of releasing prisoners that should be done next week, and he replied: "We will hold discussions about who is released and who is not."
