It happens too: A recent ad on "2 hand" site, stirred the wrath of the family of Harav Ovadia Yosef zt"l. The ad published, was by a leasing company which offers for sale a Škoda Superb 2012 for sale, which was rented by Harav Ovadia's family and served Harav Ovadia for the past two years. The ad announces along with the technical details, that this is the Rav's car and it is a 'vehicle which is blessed'.

According to the report this morning (Wednesday) by the journalist Yehuda Schlesinger in Israel Hayom, anyone who would call the seller and leasing company in Kiryat Malachi may be disappointed, because the vehicle has already been sold at list price of one hundred fifty -five thousand shekels.

Harav Ovadia's family heard about the sale and was furious: "It is very annoying and infuriating for us that someone is trying to make money out of the memory of the Rav," said one family member to Israel Hayom, "How dare they do that? Trading the Rabbi and causing him such disgrace. Unfortunately we have no control over such a thing."

Harav Ovadia did not purchase a vehicle and the family rented a vehicle for long periods. Before the Skoda, a BMW vehicle served the Rav and when it was returned they asked the company not to sell or trade it in a similar way, but then they did not encounter a similar problem since when the Rav used the previous car, there was a man who followed and asked all the time when we would return the car then ran to buy it,"said one family member.

The family member added that "in this case too we asked the company not to trade the memory of the Rav. They probably waited a few months to let the matter be forgotten as it were, and now raised it. It's one thing if the vehicle was donated to children, education, yeshivos, but just like that, it just degrades the Rav".

Harav Ovadia's apartment in Hakablan Street in Jerusalem will also be sold at the end of the first year of mourning.
