Effect of split? • Litvishe leaders call for unity

The Yated Ne'eman newspaper advertises this morning (Tuesday) a letter under the heading 'Duty of Time' that says: "The eyes of all Israel are awaiting the salvation of Hashem, and it is clear that as much as we on our part, get closer to Him in keeping Torah and mitzvos, we shall merit more yeshuva in body and soul, and one of the principles of the Torah is that unity and the love of each other will dwell among us."

"We hereby came to remind and strengthen known things, that everyone should judge his fellow favorably and to remind both big and small to memorize and educate our sons and our students."

The letter ends "and the right of loving those who are called the legion of the King, will remove the wrath of Hashem, until Hashem will send a spirit from above we will be redeemed with eternal redemption."

The letter is signed by one by one of Gedolei Yisroel: Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman, Hgr"n Kerlitz, Hagaon R' Chaim Kanievsky, and Hgri"g Edelstein.

Some might say that this letter was written in light of what was intended at the conference of Sephardi Roshei Yeshivos against Degel HaTorah, and Marbitzei Torah of Sephardim, who chose not to send their Roshei Yeshivos to the conference.

Meanwhile, this morning the newspaper first mentions the campaign of members of Council of Torah Sages of Agudath Israel who unite for a protest campaign to the U.S. against the recruit decree, while emphasizing that the conference of roshei Yeshivos held last week and led by R' Aharon Leib made waves in the Jewish world.

So far Yated Ne'eman avoided publishing the conference due to non- participation of the Degel council members in the campaign, in line with the ruling of Hagaon R' Aharon Leib Steinman.
