Again: Molotov cocktail thrown at Yeshiva in Bnei Brak

Tonight (Tuesday) about half an hour after midnight, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the Nachalas Shlomo Yeshiva on Chai Taib Street in Kiryat Herzog, Bnei Brak. The bottle did not catch fire and there were not casualties, but damage was caused to one of the windows.

One of the yeshiva students told Behadrey Haredim that the vandals threw a stone at the window to shatter it, and then threw a bottle with flammable material. A bochur who was in the room at the time, was hit in the leg from the bottle, but by miracle it was not flared. Drives of Ichud Hatzalah who arrived quickly at the spot, left without giving treatment.

Searches conducted by police and volunteers of Hashomrim, located a 24 -year-old resident of the city, and he was detained. This evening he will be brought to the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court for a remand hearing.

The previous night (Monday) at about 3:00 am, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the yeshiva's dormitory facing Mansur Street. The bottle ignited and caused fire. Again there were no casualties, but slight damage to a door of the yeshiva was caused.

Yeshiva students – under the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Avraham Erlanger - said that their 16 year old friend, who was stabbed in the stomach on Friday night two and a half weeks ago on Hashomer corner Rabbi Akiva Street in Bnei Brak, and was taken in fair condition to Beilinson Hospital in Petah Tikva. "Thank G-d he has been released from the hospital, but still not back to normal, and recovering," said his friend.

Following the incident, a complaint was filed with the Ramat Gan police and an investigation was launched, and a number of youths were detained.

According to the yeshiva students, there is suspicion that the friends of the suspects are getting back at the yeshiva, and for the second night in a row, they threw Molotov cocktails at the yeshiva. They further said that yesterday (Monday) a third party contacted the Rosh Yeshiva, to reconcile between the parties, the Rosh Yeshiva agreed, but it was not implemented yet.
