Russian court stated, the judgment was anti-Semitic

District Court Taber Russia, ordered yesterday (Sunday), to reduce the sentence of a Jewish teacher who was sentenced to seven years in prison for bribery, against the background of anti-Semitic expressions of judges.

Ilya Farber, a Jewish artist, and teacher was accused of misdemeanor and exploitation status as a school teacher in the town Moskanka province.

He was arrested in 2011 and accused of accepting a sum of 13 thousand dollars for a signature on a document which allows owners to fraudulently receive special funding from the government.

Farber argued during the trial that he is innocent and buried a trap to incriminate him, but the judge instructed the jury not to accept the words of the accused. During the trial, the judge heard saying: "Is it possible that a person who carries Jewish surname as Farber will help the town for free?".

Members of the Committee for Civil Rights of the Kremlin said that these hostile and anti-Semitic phrase and sentence is absurd. These met with President Putin on the subject and he quickly and publicly sharply criticized the court. Television interview said that this ruling "is outrageous."
