Yesterday (Monday) Presidency of the Council of Europe decided to hold a renewed decision to ban circumcision at the next conference, however, after the Knesset delegation headed by MK Reuven Rivlin met with members of the Presidency of the Council.

Renewed debate will take place in one of the committees of the Council of Europe, which ratified the decision is received by the Council.

Rivlin and delegation - MK Yitzhak Vaknin (Shas ) and MK Ronen Hoffman ( Yesh Atid) - Presidency members have filed more than signatures of council members who wish to hold a new discussion on the issue, and the same time, the delegation members met over the weekend with members of the Council Presidency .

Rivlin said following the decision: "We expect Europe to change its approach to the prohibition of circumcision and other issues in the sphere of freedom of religion and conscience. Intervention in matters of Judaism is not legitimate."
