Shomrei Emunim Rebbe to raise money for detained brother

Brotherhood: Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim from Ashdod came to the USA to help his brother, the Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim - Monsey, who has been in jail for a month.

This morning (Tuesday) after countless rumors, the Rebbe embarked on a fundraising campaign for his brother, who is imprisoned in harsh conditions awaiting trial.

The trip went through after many requests of the detained Rebbe and activists in the United States.

The Rebbe harnessed to leave, saying "The Rambam ruled that redemption of captives is a the highest level of tzedaka." He will stay abroad for ten days. On Shabbos he will be with his brother's family only.

Given that these are charitable funds the Rebbe ruled that only one meshamesh will join and said "shluchei mitzvah einam nizokim."

Activists who are working for the jailed brother are planning the visit in all details, planning the route and determining the list of benefactors whom he will visit.

As revealed first in Behadrey Haredim, the Rebbe of Shomrei Emunim, Yaakov Yitzchok Rota, was arrested on suspicion that he did not give real data while requesting the American visa.

In Israel, three brothers serve as Rebbes of Shomrei Emunim: in Bnei Brak, Ashdod and Jerusalem. As stated, the Rebbe of Ashdod is the one who went out to raise funds for his brother in the United States.
