Mazal Tov: 90th birthday of Erloy Rebbe

Rebbe of Erloy, an elder of our generation's Rebbes, and member of the Council of Gedolei Torah of Agudath Israel, turned 90 tonight, 13th Teves.

The Rebbe left this morning (Sunday) due to the heavy cold at his Jerusalem residence, to the city of Bnei Brak - to the home of his associate, the benefactor Rabbi Shalom Fisher, where he will stay in the coming days.

A small lechayim event was held tonight at the home of Rabbi Shalom Fisher, to mark the day, along with the player Rabbi Shlomo Cohen and keyboardist Ami Cohen.

On Friday it was already attempted to bring the Rebbe to Bnei Brak, because of the extreme cold from which he suffers, but in the end the trip was cancelled, and instead a backup generator was brought to the Rebbe's house in the Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem.

Every year on the Rebbe's birthday there is no saying of Viduy in Erloy. Over the years, the Hassidus holds a Lechayim Tish after Shachris, and dances are held at the Erloy yeshivos as well as hours of limud on the occasion of the birthday.

In all concentrations of Erloy Hassidus in Israel and around the world, lechayim parties are being held in which the joyous day is marked in the Hasidus.

Meanwhile, a chizuk conference for the young avreichim in the Erloy Hassidus for the days of Shovevim, which was expected to take place this afternoon in the Great Beis Midrash of Erloy in Katamon neighborhood of Jerusalem - was postponed due to the weather.
