Tonight: Melave Malka party at gates of 'Jail 6'

Tonight (Saturday night), a demonstration of support is taking place in front of Jail 6, for two yeshiva students imprisoned in it on charges of desertion.

A festive Melave Malka meal, with musical accompaniment, will be held tonight at the gates of Jail 6 in show of support for two yeshiva students imprisoned for the crime of desertion. In the party, rabbis and politicians will be speaking too.

Dozens of buses will be carrying yeshiva students to the area in front of the prison, from Bartenura Square in Bnei Brak, from the entrance to the city of Jerusalem, from the entrance to Modi'in Illit and from Hannah Senesh Street in Ashdod.

Earlier this week a yeshiva bochur was arrested, and on Thursday another young man was arrested, a student at Kfar Hasidim Yeshiva.

They did not go to the centers of enlistment and did not heed the draft notices sent to them.

Shabbos passed for the two detainees without problems. The detainees' lawyer also managed to bring them bulletins of Parshas Hashavu'a and letters from their parents.

Next Monday activists of the Eida Hareidis, led by the Av Beis Din, Hgri"t Weiss and other members of the Badatz, will arrive at the jail, after discussion and decision on the issue received in a special session of the Beis Din.

Eida Hareidi activists also discussed the issue, and decided to strengthen the hands of the detainees and to hold demonstrations at the place.
