David Greenfield, a member of the New York City Council, calls the police to immediately install security cameras which were approved a year ago, in Haredi neighborhoods.
David Greenfield who wears a yarmulkah, representing the neighborhoods of Boro Park and Flatbush, said today (Wednesday) that the Jewish neighborhoods have been suffering for months from the "knockout" plague, and every week more cases in which Jews are beaten by young people, have been recorded.
He said that a budget of $ 415,000 was handed over to the police to install security cameras in Jewish neighborhoods, but it has not yet done so.
Greenfield calls the police to put the security cameras project as a priority: "The young criminals manage to escape and continue to harm passers-by," he said. "The police can not put a hand on them, and the Jewish population is immersed in fear. Installing security cameras on street corners will allow the police to hunt down the culprits and punish them, it is the only solution that might help."
Meanwhile, JCRC Jewish organization is offering a reward of five thousand dollars to anyone who brings information leading to the capture of the "knockout" attackers in Jewish neighborhoods.
