The struggle for control of the tomb of Rabbi Nachman comes to an end: two years ago Breslev Rabbis appointed Rabbi Elchadad responsible for managing the tomb in Uman and the latter appointed a resident to be responsible for managing the site during the year.
Twenty families living in Uman complained the gabbai is not acting honestly and there was a struggle between the parties. The family took over, changed the locks and removed the gabbai.
Lately there were negotiations between the parties to reach an understanding. And last Shabbos, Shabbos Chanukah Rabbi Shalom Arush came to Uman, with a view to bring about a settlement and he succeeded.
The agreement leaked to B'Chadrei Charedim exclusively: by agreement Rabbi Arush will finance the Talmud Torah and new kollel to be set in place.
At the tomb itself will be installed a charity box for families and hospitality which will provide free food. The Gabbai who was expelled will return as before, and hospitality will be established instead on behalf of the families.
One regular visitor at the tomb who knows what is happening in Uman told B'Chadrei Charedim: "for months there has been tension and violence. Hopefully the calm will return to Uman and love, truth and peacewill be restored. Hospitality which will be activated at the scene, will benefit everyone."
