In recent years more and more countries acknowledge the world power and influence of the ultra-Orthodox public. This was true even when the ultra-Orthodox parties were an integral part of the coalition in Israel, but now if they are not, representatives of foreign countries continue to strengthen ties with the vertices of the haredi public, rabbis and politicians.
This is not the first time host British Ambassador Matthew Gould, hosts haredi public officials at events, as well as talk's one on one or in groups. After lighting the candles, Ambassador Gold said in commendable Hebrew that "It is a great honor for me to host the ultra-Orthodox community in my home on the occasion of the happiest festivals in the Jewish calendar. The UK government has enormous respect for the Haredi public, and our Orthodox community in the UK. The event tonight is for me ways to show respect that, and it aims to build closer understanding based on trust and mutual respect. "
Chief Rabbi Rabbi David Lau added in his speech:" British people are associated with us and we appreciate that friendship and hope that together we will continue to enlighten the world with that friendship and pleasant light of important values shared and will always be a reason for us to add light, friendship and companionship.
