Starts again: Avivit Shaer remarries

Two years after losing her husband and five children: Avivit Shaer married last night (Sunday) to a man from Rehovot - reports Israel Hayom newspaper.

The wedding took place at the Vitrage Hall in Nes Ziona and was kept confidential until almost the last moment. "It was hush-hush. Anyone whom she invited – she made him swear not to chat. It was important to her that it would be intimate and personal."

"There was not a dry eye in the hall," said one of the guests to the event, "All around the music was happy and inside the heart a lot of crying. Tears of happiness and joy mixed in the shade of tragedy. It swept us all here."

The tragedy of the Sha'er family shocked many and is well remembered to this day: in a fire which broke out in their apartment in Rehovot, the father Guy Shaer, 38, and five children - Eliav aged 11, Eviatar aged 8, Amitai aged 7, Shira aged 3, and Itamar - year and eight months. The father jumped into the burning house to save his children - and went up in flames together with them.

In an interview to Channel 10 a few days after the disaster, Mrs. Shaer showed the strength of her faith: "What I have to say to all of Israel is: "The Lord gave, the Lord has taken away, may the name of the Lord be blessed now and forever. I firmly believe that the Almighty is a merciful G-d. We are no more merciful than the Creator of the world. Whatever He does, Hakadosh Baruch Hu, is for the best," she said then.

A year after the disaster Shaer entered into a new apartment house, erected on the ruins of the previous one. Last night, as said, she began to establish herself a family again.
